Urgh, how did she manage to get lust in such a place?! IT HAD TO BE A SCARY ONE! Maeve blinked as she wandered along Orford Marshes; she had been looking for a plant in the woods but she had been so distracted that she end up in this…place. That was maybe why people were staring at her oddly earlier, she was making her way in this place. She remembered having heard people warning her about Marshes…she didn’t know they were talking about that-she thought it was Marshmallows. Okay, she had to admit it had been stupid out of her but still…
She flew around the forest expecting any kind of evil creature to jump on her at any moment; she wasn’t in the mood to make potions. She found herself at the top of a cliff, good thing she had wings, or else she knew that her clumsy self would end up falling off it. Then, that was when she heard a big scary noise; more like a huge RAWR. WHAT WAS THAT?! The little fairy yelped and startled. Panicking she looked around, expecting any creature to jump on her; she figured it was what had caused that big Rawr.
Maeve brought her arms close to her and tears began to fall. She knew it was bad for her to panic, because it might be bad for her fragile health; she had almost died at least a thousand times, she didn’t want to die young! She was still young!
She stopped flying for a few moments, hoping that it wasn’t a big creature that was until she saw that huge wolf. She froze, her face turned pale, very pale, it was white in fact. The animal was staring at her with hunger. Having stopped flying she landed on the ground hard, she winced but quickly backed away…until she remembered the cliff. That was when she backed away too much, she fell backward.
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!” the scream was resonating in the woods.
With the greatest luck, she took her ribbon, and being skilled with it, she managed to attach it with a near by root. If she hadn’t done that, she would’ve end up died, she was sure of it. “Waaaaaaaaaah Go away wolf!” she screamed as it was ‘barking’ at her. She was too panicked to even remember she had wings and could fly…oh she wished she had stayed home at this particular moment.

There were very few trees in this marsh. She didn't like that.
Making her rounds through the various different areas in Moorwick, Katanai had come across a few places like this. The Orford marsh was a place she happened to stumble upon quite a few times, to her displeasure. She knew her way around the country, but she didn't bother paying attention to direction these days. Thus, it was her own fault she had ended up here.
It wasn't a total loss, however, for somehow, she had managed to find herself a place to recline. A large tree grew healthily, despite the humid and overly-wet conditions of the land. She managed to jump into one of the branches, sitting down and taking her travel log (otherwise known as her diary) out of her bag. She opened the page, taking a small pen from the spiraled spine of the book. She began to jot down her thoughts--most of which were about how she hated the wetness of the marsh and that she didn't know why she just kept ending up there. She then flipped to the front page of the book, where she had drawn a small, rough image of the lands of Moorwick. She drew a small circle in the middle of "Orford Marsh" marking it as "the only tree in sight"
The remaining member of the Misarashi clan was beginning to relax. This was nice...
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!”
So much for that...
With her acute sense of hearing, that sound was rather blood-curdling to her.
She stood up, though, making her way over to the place she heard the sound come from. It sounded as if someone was about to be murdered.
“Waaaaaaaaaah Go away wolf!”
Katanai sighed. A wolf? Oh. No wonder the creature was so frightened. It was just a small fairy...But didn't fairies know magic? And couldn't they...fly?
Still, she figured she may as well do the poor creature a favor. She jumped in front of the wolf, glaring down at the creature. The wolf simply growled. She felt bad for the ignorant animal. She glanced briefly at the ground at the wolf's feet. This caused the soggy ground to catch fire. Not smart enough to realize that the wet ground would soon fizzle out the fire, the large animal ran off.
With a simple "hmph," Katanai closed her eyes. What a waste of her skills. Ah well. At least she didn't have to kill anything. She looked at the fairy who was clinging to a piece of ribbon for dear life. She didn't really want to say anything. But it would be strange if she just walked off.
"It's gone," she said in a soft voice. "You're safe." She then turned to walk off.

Maeve blinked trying her best not to spazz out enough so she would end up falling off the cliff. It was almost surprising that she had managed, as much as she could to stay ‘calm’. Well, okay, she wasn’t calm at all but the little pink haired fairy didn’t do anything clumsier than what had happened just a few moments ago. It took a few moments but the wolf fled away though Maeve couldn’t see the reason of it’s quick departure for she was too low from the scene, all she could see was a huge shadow and that didn’t sound good at all…
"It's gone,"
Uh? Who talked, she looked up and spotted a girl with kitty ears; Kitty ears! They were so cute! Remembering she was a fairy and at the fact that she had wings she flew towards the cat demon and smiled at the girl, happy that she had saved her from the big meanie wolf who was probably thinking that she was some kind of meat.
"You're safe."
She went towards the neko girl and flew around her head as she turned to leave. She had to thank her! “Thank you for saving me~” she chimed. “I was sure that it would eat me!!” she added with chibi teary eyes like.
“You don’t have to go that quick!” she paused, thinking that maybe she should thank the neko in one way or an other…she just didn’t know yet. “How could I thank you for your help?” she asked, aloud, though more to herself than to Katanai.
Ooc: holy shiz, that's so short DX! rofl, do forgive that shortness my sis killed my muse <_<;;;;

Intentions set on moving on to the next village, Katanai took a few steps forward. Before she could even think about what village she would head to next, she felt the rush of something quickly flying past her. Instincts told her to swat at it, thinking it's a fly of some sort, but luckily for her, she decided against raising her arm. It turned out to be the little fairy she had just helped. What was she doing?
“Thank you for saving me~”
Oh. Okay. That was to be expected, she supposed.
"It was no trouble," Katanai stated nonchalantly. She then continued to walk, however, and the fairy continued to follow her. That was weird. What business did they have with her now?
“I was sure that it would eat me!!”
That much was actually true, she mused silently to herself. If it wasn't for her and her abilities to catch things on fire, that wolf probably would have chomped the poor thing down without a second thought. A small drop of sweat appeared on the back of her head as she saw the tears stream down the fairy's cheeks as rapidly as a river. That was...a little dramatic, she figured as she continued forward.
“You don’t have to go that quick!”
Okay. This was starting to just become strange. The swordswoman did the helpless girl one favor, and now she was following her around, crying. She stood still now, deciding to simply wait for her to stop talking before walking off. Apparently, the fairy didn't want her to go. Oh! Maybe she would hire Katanai to be her body guard for the rest of her time in the swamp. So in short--it could be worth her time to stick around for a bit.
“How could I thank you for your help?”
Her face flushed as the fairy brought up a reward. She wanted nothing. What she had done was hardly an effort for her--nothing worth payment or reward of any sort. She put her hands up in front of her and shook her head.
"It was no big deal. You don't have to do anything to thank me," she said in her usual soft tone, but with purpose. She couldn't possibly accept anything from the poor fairy. Katanai was just glad that she helped save a life today. For someone who made a living out of killing, it was nice to actually be able to preserve life once in a while.
This was not turning out well. In all actuality, she should have just kept walking after setting that small patch of grass on fire. She needed to find a place for food and shelter that evening. After all--dusk had a habit of popping up on people without them even realizing. Being in a marsh, Katanai didn't feel like sleeping outside the night. It was damp, and really dreary. Nothing at all like the deserts she had grown up in.
Kya! >< Shortness... Sorry! >< But at least it's something?

Maeve was still flying around the cat demon girl, thinking that she wasn’t that demoniac for one. She was kawaii at that!!! She giggled at the thought. Maybe they would become great friends! She would love to have someone who would back her up whenever she would be in trouble-which happened half of the time of her miserable life. She was one to bring bad luck around and to those who were sticking with her. That and she was known to be a public danger too considering the number of potions she had blown up and the hundred of times she had bumped into something, almost died-almost one time per day, and any other possible bad thing that could happen to someone, happened to her, when it came to bad luck.
"It was no trouble,"
The little fairy smiled at the girl, curious about what she was doing before coming to her rescue. She was cool; she knew how to scare wolves away and how to kick asses probably as well! She felt a high admiration towards the girl she that was walking away out of her.
She could see the light blush that appeared onto Katanai’s lips but didn’t say anything about it-after all, she knew that some kind of situations were embarrassing and well, she happened to be in a lot of them. She simply decided to keep that usual smile of hers. After all, there were times where it was better not to say anything and she understood that this would be one of them. She didn’t mind it at all.
"It was no big deal. You don't have to do anything to thank me,"
She tilted her head as the girl spoke. Oh really? Well that was even better! But still she would feel a little bad if she said that only because she wanted to get rid of her or only because she was too shy. “Awe, but still, if you think of something, tell me~” she added flying around the girl’s head.
“Say, do you mind helping find my way out of here? This place is a little scary…” she asked to the girl giving her puppy eyes at the same time-maybe it would help Katanai to warm up and accept her request.

“Awe, but still, if you think of something, tell me~”
Katanai said nothing, but simply nodded. The fairy seemed to be clumsy, but had a personality that seemed nearly child-ish. Still, referring to the small girl as "the fairy" was starting to get on her nerves. There were only two ways to solve this problem--walk away and never see her again (most likely,) or ask for her name. Maybe if she introduced herself the magical klutz would do her the favor of introducing herself. She hoped so. Asking people questions was a pain--especially if the person refused to answer them.
“Say, do you mind helping find my way out of here? This place is a little scary…”
Help her find her way out of the marsh? That would be part of her job...but the fairy didn't know that she was a mercenary, thus had no idea that she would normally ask for payment. She contained a sigh as she noted the look on the pitiful creature's face. Oh my... When she had used the word "childish" to describe the fairy, she had had no clue how right she had been.
Gently pushing a fallen strand of hair out of her eyes, Katanai focused her vision on the small woman. She had to admit--the look on her face, while childish never the less, was kind of cute. She couldn't say no now--not after she had saved the small creature from the clutches of death once before. "Alright... I shall escort you. It would be dangerous for you to go on your own," she mused. It was a true enough fact. Katanai had a slight height disadvantage, being only five foot one. Still, this small woman was probably somewhere close to five and a half inches. Talk about bite-sized. Some of the creatures of the marsh had mouths twice the size of the fairy's entire body length.
"My name is Katanai, by the way," she added, withdrawing one of her two swords. Ah well. This could be used as time to get some training in. At least this would be good practice for a real assignment. Practice makes perfect, after all.
Eyes scanning over the area, she dubbed it safe. She had probably already done most of the dirty work by frightening off that one wolf earlier. Oh well. She put the blade back for now. Maybe she would need it later. If not, though, that would be good enough. At least the helpless fairy would be totally safe that way--not that she doubted her ability to protect the girl. She had decent power--fighting strength, reliable stamina, and the ability to set things to flame with her mind.
